Tales from the Borderline.
Borderline Personality is one of the most commonly diagnosed mental illnesses.
It also one of the most misunderstood & stigmatized.
70% of peopled with Borderline Personality Disorder will attempt suicide.
10% of those diagnosed will do so successfully making this a terminal mental diagnoses when left untreated.
Last year I was diagnosed with Impulsive Borderline Personality Disorder. Even though it totally tracks, I had a very hard time accepting the diagnoses due to the incredible amount of stigma that surrounds this particular designation.
Last month, after hitting a crises point, I began to finally come around on it and take steps to tame the wild mustang in my brain.
I have no idea how it will all shake out but figured I would document the journey. I am terrified of being this vulnerable - it may fuck my life up, but I also know how fucking alone I have felt in this process so many times.
If this helps even one person feel less like I have, then it was all worth it.
